Playing the Building

Remember this past fall when I was talking about David Byrne's NY installation, the one where he wired an old building to be played as an instrument? If it was hard to visualize, this would've helped:

It Had to Happen

You know how rockers and jammers like Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer and others followed Delbert McClinton's example and started putting together their own "hang out with the cool kids" vacation packages? Even Lyrnyrd Skynyrd got into the act.

Dig the new breed: it's not quite a cruise, but Atlantis, Paradise Island is now offering similar-themed vacation packages with heavy tween appeal.

Just in case you want to know where (or where not) to be, when:

Kelly Clarkson: February 14
Demi Lovato: March 7
Jonas Brothers: March 14, April 18th, May 9th.

The Audacity of Looking Fabulous

It's amazing to me that there's so much controversy over one little, and fantastic, chapeau. It's not surprising at all to see how many orders have come in at the Detroit miliner where she bought it.

Talk About Time Travel!

The actor to replace David Tennant as the next Doctor Who has been announced and it's young Matt Smith. I'm already thinking of him as "Doctor Duran," though, with that hair.

While that's great news (I guess), it's disappointing we'll get so little new Who for 2009. A few specials, and then everything revs back up for 2010. Meanwhile, Torchwood's coming back for 2009, but only five episodes? What gives?
